Doctor virtual consultation with patient over online video call
VIRTUAL CONSULTATIONS
We understand that it’s not always easy to come in for an appointment when you’re busy. More so with social distancing during the current coronavirus pandemic. You can now receive support from the comfort of your own home or anywhere else! In order to be accessible and help as many people as possible, our specialists conduct “Virtual Consultations” over a GDPR compliant video/voice conferencing software. All virtual consultations will be audio and video recorded and calls will be encrypted end-to-end for security. These virtual consultations may be stand alone initial consultations/follow-ups or part of a clinical plan.

Planning for virtual consultation

In order to get the best out of any virtual consultation, please follow the below suggestions:

  • Email all the necessary information about yourself, including previous medical conditions, medications, allergies and notes on previous consultations.
  • Have a reminder in your diary for the time and date of consultation
  • Ensure you have the correct phone number or video link for the consultation
  • Check that your computer audio and video is functioning
  • Have a quiet room with good lighting, so that the doctor/dietitian can see you well.
  • Write down all the problems to be mentioned and questions to be asked.
  • If you are discussing weight loss, inform the doctor/dietitian of all the weight loss plans you have been through.

What happens during and after a virtual consultation (Video/telephone)

During the consultation, you can explain all the problems pertaining to your medical condition. The doctor will try and find out the reason for weight gain, motivation for weight loss and the impact of weight gain on your physical health, confidence and self esteem. The doctor will assess if you have any hormonal cause for weight gain. He/She will also work out what relevant investigations you require. Following the consultation, you will receive a copy to the clinic letter sent to your general practitioner. You will also be advised to have relevant investigations. The doctor will discuss with his team and provide a plan for weight management or weight related medical conditions. You can always email any questions or any information which you have forgotten to mention during the consultation.

Book a virtual consultation

To book a virtual consultation, please e-mail us ([email protected]) or give us a call during working hours. A member of our team will talk you through the process and ask a few preliminary questions to help our specialist better assess your needs. Once your payment has been processed you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Please note that payment for virtual consultations (as with normal consultations) must be made within 48 hours of booking. After 48 hours we will no longer be able to hold your place and it will be given to another waiting client. Note: Virtual consultations do not constitute emergency care. If you have any medical emergencies, please call or go to your nearest accident & emergency service, or in life-threatening situations call 999 for the ambulance service immediately. Please read our cancellation policy and terms & conditions as these apply to virtual consultations.
